The White Dune is Dakhla’s most famous image: a large dune of very pale sand rising out of the turquoise lagoon.
It is usually reached by boat, and parts of the lagoon uncover at low tide, so departure times follow the day’s tides.
On site: a walk on the dune, a swim in calm, shallow water, and a picnic or oyster tasting depending on the option.
